Dear Senior Girl

Dear Senior Girl,
You have just one more year left in high school. You’ve been through a lot to get to this point, and you are going to do amazing things. As you are back in school, here are three truths I want you to know and remember in days to come.
1. You are valued and so loved.
You survived middle school. Those four years where bullying is known to be at an all time high, and girls are just mean. Sadly, many girls are still mean in high school, college, and sometimes those mean girls just grow up to be mean women. They will tell you that you don’t belong. They may tell you that you should look or dress a certain way to be pretty. Guys may have broken your heart. You might just struggle with insecurity. No matter what anyone ever tells you, I want you to know that you are so loved. Jesus died for you because He LOVES you! You are priceless in His eyes; you are a daughter of the King! You are beautiful and created in His image. Every little thing that makes you you, just makes you that much more gorgeous. Don’t believe the lies. Trust in the One who created you just the way you are.

2. It’s okay to not have your entire life planned out by graduation.
You may already have been accepted to your first choice college with a full ride and have the next five years mapped out. But maybe you don’t have any plans. You don’t know what God is calling you to yet. You see everyone else excitedly sharing their dreams for the future when asked, “What do you want to do when you graduate?”, and feel like you’re missing something. There is nothing wrong with not knowing exactly what’s in store. Don’t worry about what God has planned for you. If you are following His Word, you are in God’s will, and He will place you exactly where He wants you. Lean on Him; He is faithful.

3. Don’t ever let anyone dim your light.
Whether you’re going to college, or just out into the world, people are going to try to dim your light for Christ. They will pressure you to blend in, to stop living out your faith. You are called to be set apart; different. It’s never easy, but He is with you and walking you through with every step. Beautiful girl, just keep shining for Him.
“Don’t shine so others can see you. Shine so that through you, others can see Him.” – C.S. Lewis

Even if you are not a senior, these are important truths for every girl to remember. I always love to pray and encourage others, so don’t be afraid to send me an email! I would love to get to know you!
Blessings, Moriah
